The Long Wire

A co-op card game in a flooded neon desert, where the thing you spend is trust. Still in the making.

The Long Wire is a game I’m still making. Nothing here is final, and there’s no public build yet.

You and a friend ride a job together and split the payout. An enemy lights a stick of dynamite, and every card you play is either Open or Sly. Open is fast and everyone sees it. Sly is hidden, and it can push your share of the blast onto your partner. The game never tells you who did it.

Trust is something you can spend, and you can’t see how much your partner has spent.

Six travelers, thirty-four enemies, and towns on stilts over glowing water. The places move. The one behind this page is the Sheriff’s Station, where every trip starts.

When you lose, the game tells you a tall tale about it. My favorite: “Somewhere, a buzzard revised its estimate upward.”

More when there’s something you can play.

Nothing here is perfect, and that’s sort of the point. The film jumps, the light leaks, the color drifts. I think that’s where the charm hides.... in all the little ways the world refuses to be polished.
